No, it's not an indoor pool, it's our family room!
Just when you think you are good to go and you are in sync with the world, life tosses you a curve ball. That's what happened to us! About two years ago, we had bamboo floors installed. I loved them. Last year we remodeled the bathroom off of the family room and it was lovely and spa like! Then came the flood of March 09......
We had some plumbing work done that day. A pipe under the house was leaking so a plumber came out to repair that. Other than that little job, all was good. I woke up Thursday morning at 4am for a "potty call" and heard water running. I thought..uh oh...the commode in the other bathroom needs to have the handle jiggled! As I walked to the other side of the house, it was much louder...and I stepped into at least 2 inches of water in the family room!! I woke up John and Arrick got up as well. Arrick has had the flu bug for a week and was still recovering. We made the calls to the plumber after John shut off the water...then we called our insurance company....I began taking pictures...can't do much else!
It may be difficult to see the water but...look for the reflections. Afterwards, Diana, my good friend, told me I should have floated the fleet of rubber duckies in the water then took the pictures! I wasn't thinking that far ahead at 4am!
Arrick armed with the wet/dry vacuum to take up the water...
pools of water on the floor...see the reflection?
more reflection pools....
The guys with this company were awesome!!
They told us that our hardwood could not be saved...and began taking out the damaged floors
